The
second oil producer of Russia won the right to operate three new fields
in Western Siberia on payment of 50.8 billion rubles ($1.67 billion)
auction, is two times the starting price. Lukoil thus triumphed by two of its competitors: Rosneft and Gazprom. The assets in question were of proved reserves of 193.7 million tonnes, according to Lukoil.
